Our Year 10 students took on the final challenge of the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award, demonstrating exceptional skills and teamwork. They completed both a practice expedition and the final assessment, proving to be a great credit to our school.
Throughout the expedition, students engaged in a range of activities including map reading, compass navigation, camping, cooking, and orienteering. They spent the night at a campsite, working independently and collaboratively as they navigated their way through the tasks.
One of the highlights of the experience was watching the Euros semi-final between the Netherlands and England. Initially huddled over a laptop, the group later moved to a bigger screen to witness England’s thrilling 2-1 victory. The campsite was filled with excitement, making it an unforgettable moment for everyone involved.
The students’ dedication and enthusiasm during the Duke of Edinburgh Award showcased their ability to work together and tackle challenges head-on. Their successful completion of the Bronze Award is a testament to their hard work and commitment.
