Jack Petchey is one of the UK's most successful businessmen. Born in East London in July 1925, Jack came from a working class background with very few advantanges. From an early age he showed the entreprenerial skills that have aided his success.
In 1999, he set up the Jack Petchey Foundation as he wanted to give opportunities to young people in London. He has donated over £50million to schools, clubs and projects which benefit young people in London.

Student award winners receive a £200 grant each to benefit the school in whichever way they would like. Frederick Bremer winners for 2009 are:
Student Awards:
Amandeep Singh - Year 8
Amandeep received his award for making an excellent start to his secondary school education. He has made excellent all round progress and an outstanding contribution to the wider school life of his year group.
Amandeep has choosen to spend his £200 on specialist paints for Art and Resistant Materials.
Dylan Harding - Year 8
Dylan has worked very hard during his time at Frederick Bremer and has given up much of his spare time to help in the LRC. Dylan can always be relied on to carry out any task he is asked and works hard as a Librarian.
Katie Gittens - Year 8
Katie made an outstanding start to her secondary school education. Her approach to all areas of school life is excellent and she has made an excellent contribution to extra curricular activities. She is always willing to help out with activities and she does this always to an outstanding standard. She is an all round star.
Katie would like her grant to be used to provide microphones for the music department.
Hasnain Ahmed - Year 9
Hasnain has give up much of his free time to help in the LRC. He is always willing to help and can be relied on to carry out tasks. Hasnain works hard in his roll of Librarian.
Luke Green - Year 9
Luke has worked hard to raise money for various charities and raising awareness in school about them.
Danny McGivern - Year 10
Danny is a fantastic ambassador for the school, he regularly gives up his own time to offer his services as a tour guide.
Yasmin Boffa - Year 10
Yasmin is also a fantastic ambassador for the school, she also gives up her time to offer her services as a tour guide.
Ben Groves - Year 11
Ben has been a fantastic support for one of our disabled students throughout the year.
Frederico Pollame - Year 11
Frederico has made an outstanding contribution toward recent school productions. As well as performing very well and making extraordinary progress on his instruments, he was an integral member of the 'tech team' and recently volunteered to stay and help with setting up and to rehearse long after school. He is an extremely dependable and strong indepentent learner, having taught himself to play and arrange songs that he has performed at the school concert, which involved learning new and difficult techniques without any help.
Frederico's grant will go to the music department in general.
Samuel Smith - Year 11
Sam has also made an outstanding contribution toward recent school productions. As well as performing very well and making extraordinary progress on his instruments, he was an integral member of the 'tech team' and recently volunteered to stay and help with setting up and to rehearse long after school.
